Who are you when nobody else is influencing you?

We're constantly surrounded by other people's lives, opinions, desires, routines, relationships, bodies, purchases, and definitions of success. Social media and algorithms don't just show us content—they can influence what we pay attention to, what we compare ourselves to, and eventually, what we believe we should want.

After unexpectedly spending an entire day without my phone or Wi-Fi, I started thinking about how rarely we're truly alone with ourselves anymore.

In this episode of Authentically Aligned, we're exploring what happens when we remove the noise long enough to hear ourselves again.

We talk about social media and constant stimulation, comparison and external validation, the influence of algorithms, our discomfort with boredom, and why intentional periods of disconnection can help us rediscover what we actually like, value, believe, and want.

This isn't about abandoning social media.

It's about asking yourself:

How much of me is actually me—and how much have I absorbed from everything I'm constantly consuming?

Authentic alignment requires knowing yourself well enough to recognize when something genuinely belongs to you.
