Artificial intelligence, wars, geopolitics: in just a few years, everything has started shifting at once.
Everything is changing fast (too fast), and I can't tell my kids what kind of world they're going to grow up in.
No one can predict the future. But some people have a big-picture view that allows them, without playing fortune-teller, to map out plausible scenarios of what lies ahead. Eric Schmidt is one of them.
Over the past 25 years:
- He ran Google from 2001 to 2011, taking it from $86 million to $37 billion in revenue, an increase of more than 44,000%.
- During that time, he sat on Apple's board alongside Steve Jobs.
- He was Henry Kissinger's closest friend and co-wrote two books with him.
- He co-wrote the military AI policy adopted by the US government.
- He advises Ukraine and travels there several times a year, under fire.
Today, at 71, he runs Relativity Space, a rocket manufacturer.
For an hour and a half, he gave us everything: advice on becoming a better CEO, strong takes on what AI is really going to change in our lives, insights into what tomorrow's wars will look like, and his action plan for Europe and France to close their massive gap with the US and China.
This is the first time Eric has given a long-form interview to a French media outlet.
He had never done so before, not even when he was CEO of Google.
I'm so proud to share this episode with you.
Enjoy the listen.
